Business shouldn’t happen in a vacuum. What’s more, when it comes to doing creative stuff, you’ve got to be out there. You know, mixing it up. Meeting, greeting, and diving into experiences with others just like you who find inspiration in the everyday.
Lucky for you, we here at VMA are kind of obsessed with organizing events that give you all kinds of opportunities to do just that.
Whether social, professional, or educational, when you attend a VMA event, you’ll meet cool, like-minded members, make connections with awesome professionals in your field, and come away with the skills, tools, and leading-edge best practices, tips, and techniques you need to get more out of your career.
As a reminder, VMA Members are able to attend Java & Jabber, Lunch & Learn, and Constructive Cocktails for FREE as part of your membership.
VMA Design Conference
A full-day event created exclusively for creative and design professionals, the VMA Design conference provides an insider’s look into what’s happening right now in the design world. Stay one step ahead as you learn from the industry’s best everything you need to know about current design trends and new technologies. Exhibitor space for creative and print companies are available.
Recognized as one of the most prestigious symbols of printing and design excellence throughout Northern California, the VMA Showcase Awards give you a chance to strut your stuff and brag about your customers, your employees, and your company. Local winners move on to compete in the Printing Industries of America Premier Print Awards competition, going head to head with the best and brightest from all over the world. So mark your calendar, and give them something to talk about. Your chance comes around just once a year, with call for entries taking place every February and the Award Reception to celebrate winners, held in autumn.
When your work day ends, the schmoozing begins. And what better way to meet prospective clients, make new friends, and learn something new than over cocktails? These popular events are free to VMA members and
are held during the evenings at convenient locations. Cheers to networking!
Lunch & Learn
Listen. You gotta eat. So if you’re gonna to take a break from work to have lunch, why not add a side of learning while you’re at it? At the Lunch & Learn events, our members do just that. Gain insightful information from special guest speakers presenting on the hottest topics, then network with peers and potential clients. For VMA members, these events are complimentary. (Whoever said there’s no such thing as a free lunch?)
Java & Jabber
An always-popular event with our members, these round-table breakfast events feature industry experts who share deep insights into a variety of relevant topics. Bring your business cards and get ready to network. We’ll take care of the rest.
Take your career to the next level… over dinner. Held several times throughout the year at some of the Bay Area’s most popular restaurants, VMA Dinner Meetings include cocktails, a main course, dessert – and, oh yeah – inspiring guest speakers. Topics range from upping your sales game to the latest and greatest in digital print and new media marketing, and much more.
The way we see it, nothing compares to the pop and fizzle of a room that’s full of sales people. Much like the Dinner Meetings (but entirely dedicated to all things sales, naturally) Sales Club brings together the brightest minds in the industry who are happy to share their training and techniques with sales professionals and management alike.
Women in Business Communications
During these inspirational lunchtime discussions, we invite women to speak and empower attendees with topics relating to leadership, entrepreneurship, social impact, and growth and development in both personal and professional areas. The event is open to everyone and includes lunch. Bring your business cards, brochures, your stories and build on new or existing connections.
Can't-Miss Networking Events
Three words: Off the charts. And at this annual VMA BYOB (bring your own bib) winter event, a four-course, all-you-can-eat dungeness crab dinner is just the beginning. Come with your favorite supplier, colleagues, and an appetite, and get ready to enjoy a full night of food, drink, fun (raffle, live music, and dancing) among friends.
Baseball Tailgate & Game
Located just steps from VMA headquarters is the AT&T Park, home of the world champion San Francisco Giants. Bring the whole company or invite your industry friends and suppliers to come spend the afternoon with us at VMA’s Day at AT&T Park. We start off with a tailgate with burgers, beer, and cheering on the champs.
Golfing has long been the sport of business. Visual Media Alliance’s Annual Golf Tournament is the opportunity to spend the day outdoors, doing what you love with your clients and suppliers. This leisurely day includes friendly competition and great networking opportunities and has long been a favorite of golfing members. All tournament proceeds go towards student education and scholarships to further knowledge in the graphic arts industry.
