PIPI Survey
Fifteen regional printing associations have introduced a quarterly survey called the Printing Industry Performance & Insights (PIPI) study analyzing the performance and outlook of the print and graphic communications industry. The objective of the quarterly study is to provide leaders like yourself actionable advice on how to more effectively manage your operation.

October 2022 Survey – Effective Management Practices
Printing company leaders’ plates are packed with inflation issues, paper supply-chain problems, workforce shortages, and a changing market. Therefore, identifying effective management practices (those connected with higher performance) in this evolving environment is relevant.
We seek to provide printing company leaders with a actionable knowledge to help them with issues around:
- Setting management/leadership priorities.
- The effects of critical issues such as inflation and paper shortages
- Other factors touching our industry

In the October 2022 survey, we addressed: How Paper is Affecting Printing Companies and Approaches to Consider, Connecting a “Comprehensive Strategic Approach” to Printing Firm Performance, and The Big Picture of the Printing Industry.
In the April 2022 survey, we addressed marketing planning, sales management, and social media marketing.
In the January 2022 survey, we addressed two topics: Industry Outlook and Strategic Groups.
In the October PIPI survey, we addressed three topics: Industry outlook, Workforce Shortages, and Supply Chain Issues.
